I heard Interpol's "Barricade" a couple of weeks ago and for some reason the intro of the song kept playing in my mind today. I guess I was reminding myself of how good of a song it was since I ignored it the first time. So I went home and heard it on repeat and I must say that it is awesome.
FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT IT...
The first 34 seconds of it, why? The bass line at the beginning of the song is catchy and well constructed. The drums are amazing and that guitar that comes in a little later is totally unexpected but I like it very much.
The part where Paul sings "bees and snakes need homes" is a pretty random statement but I think it gives the song a nice lyrical touch. It's probably my favorite verse of the song but still haven't delve into the meaning behind it.
