I first encountered this song at age 15. I heard it on one of my sister's mix-tapes given to her by her good friend Mikey. At the time I knew nothing about Jimi Hendrix other than the fact that he dressed like a hippie and played Woodstock. After listening to this song, I realized that this guy was a music genius. The "wah-wah" guitar effect is just plain cool.
