VIDEO OF THE DAY + LYRIC DIVE: name in stone

If you have not seen this video or heard this tune then you should.
Simple song, simple video, great lyrics, transcendental. Check it:

NAME IN STONE

Ooh ooh ooh
Your name in stone.
We come here all alone,
And all that
s left is your name in stone.

I raise my flag up into your heart,
And you let the winds come tear it apart.

We walk through the stones,
Through the stones,
To your name in stone.
And we walk through this stone,
To your name in stone,
To your name in stone.

I raise my flag up into your heart,
And you let the winds come tear it apart.

In the end we
ll make a home;
A name in stone,
A name in stone.
In the end we
ll make our home;
A name in stone,
Your name in stone.

I raise my flag up into your heart,
And you let the winds come tear it apart.

I raise my flag up into your heart,
And you let the winds come tear it apart.

Winds come tear it apart;
The winds come tear it apart.

"Name in Stone" reminds me of Emily Dickinson's "Success is counted sweetest." I think its the whole flag raising part. I can imagine the speaker in "name in stone" feeling like the speaker in Dickinson's poem. Both deal with un-reciprocated love, despair, defeat, and desire.

Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne'er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.

Not one of all the purple host
Who took the flag to-day
Can tell the definition,
So clear, of victory,

As he, defeated, dying,
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Break, agonized and clear.
